Artistic Designer
Career History
I have been doing hair for 15 years (started out in Washington State and have since moved back to my home state California).
What is your craziest story from working backstage?
My craziest story is not from working backstage, but I went to a wedding with a friend and I had to become an emergency stylist for the Bride and a couple of bridesmaids; Their stylist didn’t show up and lucky for them that they had a curling iron and some hairspray but mostly that we arrived too early.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Working with amazing stylists inspires me to strive to be the best I can be. As a stylist you never stop growing and learning. No matter how many years one has invested in this industry, there is always something new to learn.
What gave you the desire to become a hairdresser?
I have always loved hair and make-up. I actually took a job as a receptionist in a salon and after I saw what fun stylists had making their guest so happy to a new look, I thought hey I will do this! I love the salon culture!
What is your favorite era in hairdressing and why?
I would not just pinpoint one era. I love that the hair business continues to evolve and styles come and go; But if I had to pick one era I would say the 80’s and “big hair”, since I have extremely curly hair and I’m a curly hair specialist.
What attracted you to Kromatic?
I love that Kromatic Hair Salon offers guests the best full service experience. Too many salons want to get people in and out but not here. We strive to make our guest experience special every time.
What is your favorite bad hair moment?
Wow… I would have to say my junior year of high school. My hair was so big that my yearbook picture cut my hair off not at the length but at the bangs (fringe).
What has been the greatest moment of your career?
Leaving behind a full clientele and starting over has taught me to appreciate each and every guest even more than before but also the fact that I am able to rebuild and grow.
What aspect of hairdressing do you most enjoy?
I love the personal interaction with guests. I have gained many great friends by getting to know people in my chair. |
