Career History
I started in this business about 15 years ago after beauty school as a manicurist, but eventually felt limited in that field. From there I went on to my first hair salon and began taking specialized classes. I’ve had extensive training with Vidal Sassoon. I’m a certified hair colorist with Toni and Guy. I’ve taken the Eufora academy for foundations, structures and expressions and I’ve taken classes at Vickie Lavanty International for advanced hair design to name just a few. In 2005 I sold my home in Central California and moved to the Temecula Valley and I am happy to say that this has become my home.
What is your craziest story from working backstage?
No crazy stories, but I’ve certainly heard a few.
Where do you find your inspiration?
As a stylist, I’m trained to listen to my clients and help them maximize their natural gifts. I can look at a person and talk with a person to get a good sense of what will and will not work for them. I love having a hand in something that can be so transformational for a person.
What gave you the desire to become a hairdresser?
I like people and I’ve always had a good sense of style and design. Working with people as a hairdresser just seemed like a natural fit and I couldn’t be happier with my career choice. I’ve always looked forward in this business and I’ve never looked back.
What is your favorite era in hairdressing and why?
My favorite era in hairdressing is NOW! Today styles are beautiful and funky and very expressive. Besides, styles keep coming back around so what better time than now?
What attracted you to Kromatic?
Kromatic is a very hip and trendy salon with a positive good energy.
What is your favorite bad hair moment?
No bad hair moments, only beautiful hair opportunities.
What has been the greatest moment of your career?
Coming to that moment of realization that I love what I do each day and that I love what I do each day and that I’m actually very good at it.
What aspect of hairdressing do you most enjoy?
I love the creativity of it and I love the glowing smile I get from a happy client. |
